Time for the director to step back in. Shit has hit the fan, done a 180 degrees turn, and now the fan is currently blowing cool, gentle air. We are nearing the Early Access release and basically some would already call this a full game – at the least I’ve played much more unfinished full releases, let alone Early Access. Let’s talk about this more later on.
One big thing that happened was being interviewed by Oculus in their Developer Blog:
Great visibility for our game and I confess it felt nice rubbing shoulders with John Carmack in the developer blog.
On how the game is faring, we’ve completed two public beta test rounds with some great feedback collected (thanks to all the helpful testers in our Discord!). We’ve created two worlds (a world consisting of a top world and the themed, underground biomes) out of the four we are planning.
So as you can suspect, we are already fairly deep in developing the third world – and it’s going to be a real game changer with climbing mechanics and intelligent and devious humanoid enemies.
We’ve got the Early Access roadmap planned out with several large content patches this year. We’re adding quests, three new tools, the third world, Twitch integration, public matchmaking and the collectable comic. Also incoming are the parallel endings similar to CD1.
Here’s a sneak peek of the comic, which is being written by me and Ari-Matti and drawn by Jussi. It’s really exciting watching it come together.
But the game you are about to experience, our Early Access release, is a solid experience with beefy design, lots of interactivity and customization, scary combat and stylish visuals. It is a thing I am proud of, as I am of the team. And we are only getting started.
